Alila Villas Uluwatu
A clifftop resort of low, contemporary pool villas whose Cliff-Edge Cabana, a timber pavilion projecting over the ocean, is one of the most recognisable ceremony spots in Bali. Elopement and small-wedding packages are built around the cabana, while a full-resort buyout opens the lawns and terraces for larger receptions.
About Alila Villas Uluwatu
Alila Villas Uluwatu sits on the clifftop at Pecatu on the Bukit Peninsula and now belongs to the Hyatt group. Designed by the Singapore practice WOHA, it is made up of low, flat-roofed pool villas finished in local stone and timber, with terraced gardens of native plants running towards the cliff edge. Its signature feature is the Cliff-Edge Cabana, a timber pavilion projecting out over the ocean, which is where most ceremonies take place.
Weddings are sold as elopement and small-wedding packages built around the cabana, which holds up to about 30 guests, with dinner afterwards on the resort's terraces or in a private villa. For larger groups the resort offers a full buyout that opens the lawns and terraces for receptions of up to 200. The pool villas give the couple and close family somewhere to stay and get ready on the day, a short walk from the ceremony.
