Plan A Destination Events

Plan A is a boutique events company founded in late 2012 by Tash Heyder and run from Bali, with weddings both on the island and abroad. It set out to replace fixed wedding packages with fully custom planning and still works without packages: couples choose exactly what they want, how simple or elaborate it should be, and keep control of the budget. The multilingual team includes a lead planner, senior coordinators and accounts staff.

Plan A offers full planning only, and couples choose whether Tash or one of the senior planners leads their wedding. The fee covers unlimited communication, venue selection, supplier bookings, trials, tastings, layouts, run sheets, site visits, rehearsals and coordination on the day, with the planner and assistants on site from set-up to pack-down. The team also plans elopements, welcome dinners, recovery parties, bachelor and bachelorette nights and milestone birthdays.

Its advice is useful for villa weddings: villas usually charge an event fee of about one night's rent on top of the stay, and a banjar fee is paid to the local community council at villas and hotels alike. Payments are in rupiah by bank transfer or cash and are non-refundable, as they go straight to suppliers. Tash also offers one-off or ongoing consultations for couples planning on their own.
