16 Best Coffee Shops in Bali 2026: Specialty Roasters & Cafés

Wherever you're staying, a coffee lover should make the trip to Hungry Bird in Canggu. It's one of Bali's pioneering specialty roasters, with its own roastery on site.

Expect local and imported beans on espresso and filter, bags of beans to take home, plus a busy brunch menu. It's open daily from 7 AM to 5 PM.

Ask anyone where to drink coffee in Ubud and they'll say Seniman. It calls itself the original specialty coffee and design studio, and its own roastery names Kintamani as one of its signature origins and runs weekly cupping sessions.

Seniman's Rodney Glick co-wrote the coffee-table book Bali Coffee: Origin's New Wave. The Ubud café is a short walk from the palace and the art market, and there are more Seniman cafés in Sakah and in Renon, Denpasar.

It started in 2012 as a tiny café in Seminyak. Today Revolver runs its own roastery and eight venues, from the Seminyak original and Canggu to Beachwalk Kuta and both airport terminals.

Try the single-origin Bali, grown in the Kintamani highlands at 1,100–1,300 m, with notes of tangerine and pineapple. It's also sold as 250 g bags of beans (IDR 200,000).

With exposed-brick walls, Pison is one of Petitenget's favourite coffee shops, a café that fuses a bit of Bali with a bit of Sydney.

It's known for its affogato, and stays open until 1 AM with live music at night. There are now two Pison cafés on Hanoman Road in Ubud too.

On the Bypass in Sanur, Simply Brew is a small coffee lab and roaster that's easy to miss and worth finding. It's listed as a roaster, with single origins on filter and V60.

Order a manual brew and take a bag of beans home. It's a daytime spot, open Monday to Saturday until 5 PM.

Perth roaster Micrology has been roasting small batches since 2013, and its founder, Daniel Ash, has Indonesian heritage. When global supply problems hit in 2020, the team began sourcing from Indonesia, which led to its Canggu café on Padang Linjong.

White coffees are IDR 40,000–48,000 and V60 pour-overs from IDR 50,000, with a reserve list of rare lots up to IDR 150,000. Doors open at 6 AM daily, early enough for a pre-surf coffee.

Expat. Roasters is a specialty coffee producer that works hands-on with more than 50 farming families within 40 km of its roastery, and sources over 95% of its beans in Indonesia. It's led by award-winning head barista Shae Macnamara and trains baristas across the island.

Order a V60 of its Bali Kintamani honey filter, or take home a 200 g tin of Bali Kintamani beans (IDR 215,000). Cafés are now at Petitenget, Beachwalk Kuta and Uluwatu.

This café on Berawa Beach Road pairs good lattes with a popular breakfast and brunch menu.

Come for a latte and a slice of cake, or stay for a full breakfast. It's a daytime spot, open daily from 7:30 AM until 4 PM.

BGS began in late 2013 as a small surf shop in Dreamland; founders Jordan and Komang then brought a coffee bar under the same roof. Its Canggu store sits on Munduk Catu Road about 100 metres from Echo Beach, and it's where the early surf crew fuels up.

The house roast is 100% Mandailing arabica from the Sumatran highlands. A flat white is IDR 35,000 (IDR 45,000 large) and an espresso IDR 25,000, with surfboards and gear lining the walls. Come early, as mornings fill up fast.

Titik Temu means 'meeting point', and its Seminyak café lives up to the name, built around a big staircase with floor-level lesehan seating upstairs. It's part of an Indonesian roastery brand with cafés in Jakarta and Medan.

There's now a second Bali café near Ubud Palace, in the front yard of the Puri Anyar heritage compound.

One of Indonesia's best-known coffee roasters, Anomali serves single origins from across the archipelago. The Ubud café sits on the town's main road and is open daily from 8 AM to 9 PM.

Multi-award-winning Perth roaster Blacklist opened its first roastery outside Australia in Canggu in 2020. Its Batu Mejan roastery and concept store is where the blends are roasted, and at the Tanah Barak café you can book a guided coffee tasting (IDR 160,000 per person).

A flat white is IDR 40,000–50,000 and a pour-over IDR 60,000; try the Canggu Blend, a custom blend made only for Indonesia. Both stores are open daily from 7 AM to 6 PM.

House of Yoreh is a specialty coffee bar on Babakan Canggu Road, opened in 2023 by founder Matt Jacob, with a creative studio upstairs. Its house bean comes direct from a single farm on Mount Puntang in West Java and is roasted on site.

Start with the house signature espresso drink (IDR 60,000) or a V60 (IDR 70,000); a flat white is IDR 60,000. To taste the range, the tasting flight brings five drinks for IDR 150,000. It's card payments only, so leave the cash at home.

Suka started in 2016 as a small café in Uluwatu and grew into one of the Bukit's busiest all-day spots. It serves specialty espresso made with ethically sourced coffee from across Indonesia, alongside an Aussie-style brunch.

Milk coffees are just IDR 35,000; for the afternoon, try the orange espresso tonic (IDR 65,000). There's a sister café in Ubud on Pengosekan Road.

Seta is a micro-roastery founded by Indonesian architect Jafni Zul Fahmi and Australian coffee maestro Aidan Broderick. Every bean is roasted in small batches at the Seta Coffee Studio in Sanur, which sits below an architecture practice.

In Ubud, the Seta Coffee Library on Pengosekan Road grew from a collection of rare books and pairs coffee with traditional recipes.

Founded in 2013 to make Indonesia famous for specialty coffee, Tanamera has won more than 50 awards, including Champion International Roaster at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo. In 2021 it opened its Bali HQ, roastery and café on Sunset Road.

All its coffee is Indonesian: try the Bali Batukaru single origin, or take home drip bags. The café is open daily from 8 AM to 9 PM.
