Soori Bali

Soori Bali is a resort of 48 private-pool villas on the black-sand coast of Tabanan, in Kelating village near Kerambitan, designed, owned and run by the architect Soo K. Chan of SCDA. The buildings use local grey sandstone and timber, and the site sits between terraced rice fields, the slopes of Mount Batukaru and about a kilometre of volcanic beach. Tanah Lot temple is within easy reach, yet the setting is far quieter than the southern resort areas.

Weddings follow three formats. The Enchanted Soori Wedding places the ceremony on the Sunset Lawn by the shore, a few steps from the Indian Ocean. The Beachfront Wedding Celebration is a smaller beach ceremony that includes pool-villa accommodation for the bridal party. The Infinity Soori Wedding is held at The Soori Estate, a 5,250-square-metre beachfront villa, dressed in classic white décor; the estate also hosts larger private parties and gala dinners.

Every villa has its own pool, so wedding parties can stay several nights on site, and the resort runs four restaurants (Cotta, Ombak, The Reading Room and Keiyo), a spa, an infinity pool, a gym and a library. The kitchens use produce from nearby farms and herbs and spices from the resort's own garden. Prices are not published; the concierge team handles wedding enquiries by WhatsApp and email and prepares a proposal for each date.
