A resort of 17 pool villas in the Payangan hills north of Ubud, set in rainforest. The garden wedding uses the yoga garden for up to 40 guests at a net price, and a whole-property buyout applies once numbers pass 30, so the wedding party usually has the resort to itself.
About Samsara Ubud
Samsara Ubud is a resort of 17 private-pool villas in Kelusa village, Payangan, in the hills north-west of Ubud, surrounded by rainforest. Each villa, from 122 square metres, has a heated pool and generous outdoor space. The resort concentrates on small weddings rather than large events, and its team handles the ceremony, dinner and accommodation together, so the couple can marry and stay in the same place with their closest guests.
There are four ceremony spaces: a floating stage on the main pool for up to 52 guests, the outdoor yoga garden for 60, the gallery patio for 44 and an indoor yoga room for 40, each counting some standing guests. Dinner receptions of up to 50 are held at The Kelusa Restaurant or in the yoga garden, with Indonesian or Western buffets and free-flow drink packages. Couples who bring their own decorator pay a venue rental fee instead.
Three packages are published. The elopement for two includes six hours of venue use, a celebrant, two villa nights and a five-course Indonesian dinner. Intimate Jungle Wedding and Signature Wedding on Water cover up to 40 guests with a string duo, a buffet, two hours of soft drinks and beer, and two villa nights for the couple. For more than 30 guests a whole-resort buyout is advised, and music is acoustic only, ending at 10pm under village rules.
