About The Sweet Escape Bakery & Cafe
The Sweet Escape is a gluten-free specialist bakery and café on Batu Mejan Road in Canggu, close to Echo Beach, open daily from 8am to 4pm. Most of what it bakes is gluten-free, from sourdough and pita to tarts and layer cakes, and vegan and sugar-free versions can be made on request.
Wedding cakes are made to order, from simple tiered designs to sculpted 3D fondant work, and any of them can be baked gluten-free. Flavours from the daily range, such as lemon curd, lemon raspberry and a vegan chocolate coconut, can be carried into the tiers, which helps when several guests have dietary needs. Custom 3D fondant cakes are priced from IDR 2,500,000, and designs are discussed on WhatsApp before the order is confirmed.
The bakery also supplies cafés, villas, hotels and caterers, so it is used to timed deliveries, and it delivers across Bali. For a villa wedding it can cover more than the cake: breads for a welcome lunch or recovery brunch, cupcakes and smaller sweets for a dessert table. Couples can taste the range at the café before ordering, which is the simplest way to settle on flavours for each tier.
