W Bali – Seminyak has opened Alunê, a multi-sensorial beach club set on the legendary Woobar footprint, right on the sand of Seminyak Beach. Opened in September 2026, the venue pairs sunset-driven design, live social energy and elevated dining under the signature Luxury Liberated philosophy of W Bali, and it is built as much to be felt as to be seen.

The name draws on "alunan", the Indonesian word for the flowing rhythm of ocean waves and melody, intertwined with "lune", French for moon. True to its name, Alunê moves with the day: unhurried over lunch, golden at dusk and livelier once the DJ takes over after dark.

A Seminyak Beach Club Designed Around the Sunset
Seminyak faces south-west, so every evening ends with the sun dropping straight into the ocean in front of the club. Design studio WELD built the entire space around that view, translating the rhythm of the tide and the colour of dusk into the room itself. At the indoor bar, a backdrop of hand-cut mosaic tile and orange-tinted glass is lit from behind, glowing amber and gold as the light fades outside.

We love that the details reward a closer look. The hand-carved, hand-painted timber counter swirls from deep ocean blue to burnt orange, while Rosso Alicante marble, green quartzite and grey teakwood carry the palette through the room. Out front, private pool cabanas each come with their own jacuzzi and an unobstructed view of the Indian Ocean, a rare level of privacy on this stretch of coast.

Coastal Flavours and the Sunset Ritual at Alunê
The kitchen is led by Chef Jules Winckler, Executive Sous Chef at W Bali – Seminyak, who trained in Michelin-starred kitchens across France. "People often think beach club food is just fries and burgers," he says, "but at Alunê, the food moves with the day: light at noon, fire at sunset, and something wild after dark." Highlights include the Catch of the Day Sashimi with ponzu, chili oil and lime, a lobster roll with spring onion and ikura, and a crispy hash brown topped with Wagyu beef tartare and grated parmesan.

As day turns to dusk, the venue shifts into its Sunset Ritual, a golden-hour stretch of twilight cocktails and live sound. The Ivory Tide, a creamy, nutty blend of vodka, almond milk cordial, orgeat, elderflower and cream, leads the drinks list, while six wellness mocktails built around pandan, chamomile, galangal and holy basil cater to those keeping things light.

Our Take
The setting: A south-west-facing stretch of Seminyak Beach with a front-row seat to one of the best sunsets on the island.
The experience: A beach club that shifts gear through the day, from relaxed lunches to music-led evenings.
The standout: The private pool cabanas, each with its own jacuzzi and ocean view.
The vibe: Polished but playful, with a kitchen that takes its food far more seriously than most beach clubs.
For travellers looking for more than a sunbed and a cocktail, Alunê is easily one of the most exciting new openings in Seminyak. Come for a drink, stay for the sunset, and let the evening unfold.
