🗺️ 5-Day Itinerary · A first, short trip
Five days is enough for the two sides of Bali most first visits are about: the temples and rice terraces around Ubud, and the cliffs and beaches of Uluwatu. Start inland while you are fresh, and finish by the sea, 45 minutes from the airport.
Day 1 · Ubud
🚗 Airport to Ubud: about 1.5 hours by car
Tip: Ubud traffic is slowest from 4 to 7 PM; walk the centre instead of taking a car.
Day 2 · Ubud
Tip: Arrive at Tirta Empul when it opens at 8 AM; by 10 AM the pools are crowded.
Day 3 · Ubud
Tip: Trek pick-ups leave Ubud in the small hours; pack a warm layer for the summit.
Day 4 · Uluwatu
🚗 Ubud to Uluwatu: about 1.5–2 hours by car
Tip: The temple monkeys grab sunglasses and phones; keep both in a zipped bag.
Day 5 · Uluwatu
🚗 Uluwatu to the airport: about 45–60 minutes
Tip: Leave at least two hours between the beach and an international flight.
