8 Best Waterfalls in North Bali 2026: Entry Fees, Treks & Swimming

Hidden in the hills above Lake Buyan, Banyumala pours in two main streams and dozens of smaller threads down a fern-covered cliff into a clear, cold pool. It's one of the best North Bali waterfalls for a swim: the pool is mostly waist-deep and chest-deep at most.

From the ticket counter it's about 1 km down concrete steps, 10–15 minutes; the climb back is the hard part. The access road is steep, so take care on a scooter, and wear water shoes on the rocky bottom.

Often called Bali's most beautiful waterfall, Sekumpul is a cluster of falls dropping about 80 m into a jungle valley. You can pay for the viewpoint only, or go down with a village guide: about 320–365 steep steps and river crossings lead to the base.

The long trek adds Fiji Waterfalls, three falls side by side on the Lemukih side of the valley. Pay only at the official counter by the 'Welcome to Sekumpul' sign and ask for a printed ticket: unofficial roadside posts have charged foreigners far more.

Right off the main Bedugul–Singaraja road, Gitgit is the easiest of the big North Bali waterfalls to reach: a paved, partly steep path of about 500 m leads down past souvenir stalls to a single tall drop into a rocky pool.

You don't need a guide, whatever the car-park touts say. From the end of the trail you can continue to the smaller Colek Pamor fall.

Just 14 km from Lovina, the 'Secret Garden' of Sambangan links four falls: Kroya, with a natural rock slide and a 5 m jump; Kembar, a 10 m jump; Pucuk, the tallest jump at about 15 m; and Aling-Aling itself, about 35 m high, whose pool is sacred, so no jumping or swimming under it.

Walking and viewing costs only the entry ticket, but jumps, the slide and swimming in the jump pools are only allowed with a local guide, who supplies a life vest. Allow up to two hours for all four falls; about 400 steps in total.

In the misty clove and coffee country above the twin lakes, Munduk Waterfall, also called Red Coral, is a tall single drop in the forest. It's an easy 650 m walk, about 20 minutes each way, mostly on concrete.

The splash pool is too shallow and rocky for swimming, but a small pool fed by the falls is fine for a dip. There are basic toilets and drink stalls, and parking is next to Red Land Warung.

Near Lake Buyan in Wanagiri, this trail leads to four falls on one ticket: Bhuana Sari, with its two splash pools; the walk-behind 'Single' fall; Spray Waterfall; and Banyu Wana Amertha, the largest, a wide curtain of streams over a mossy cliff.

It's just over 1 km down, about 15–20 minutes, mostly on concrete with stairs near the bottom. You can swim at about three of the four falls in cold, waist- to chest-deep pools. Allow about two hours.

In the village of Ambengan, next to Gitgit, Jembong is a small, quiet two-level fall about 15 m high, just 200 m from its car park. Few tour groups stop here, so it's a peaceful break on the drive to Lovina.

There's a shallow pool, about 1 m deep, at the base. Entry fees reported in 2024–2026 range from IDR 20,000 to 50,000, so check at the gate.

Golden Valley Waterfall is a 15 m fall a short, steep 250 m walk from the Munduk road, with a small eco café on site. It's privately owned and runs on donations: pay into the honesty box, or buy a coffee.

It's also the start of the Munduk Waterfall Trek, a 5–6 hour hike that links Golden Valley, Red Coral, Labuhan Kebo (IDR 20,000, about 150–200 steps, with the best river dip on the trail) and Melanting (IDR 20,000, the most powerful of the Munduk falls, at the bottom of hundreds of steep steps).
