Little Singapore by Chef Bernard brings Singaporean home cooking to a cosy dining room in Umalas, Kerobokan Kelod. Chef Bernard Chew, who hosted private dinners at home before opening the restaurant, cooks the dishes of his Singaporean heritage with classical technique. The signatures are the crabs: chilli crab with whole Papuan mud crab in a sweet-spicy tomato sambal served with fried mantou buns, and a peppery black pepper crab with butter and curry leaf. Singapore laksa, with a rich coconut broth, prawns, fish cake and tofu puffs, is the other must-order. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 1 pm to 9 pm; booking ahead is recommended.
